You may have seen a peculiar orange icon on a website (like the one above), accompanied by the words “RSS”—which stands for Really Simple Syndication. RSS feeds are a way of automatically delivering updated content from blog entries, Web sites, and podcasts straight to you or to others. Rather than visiting a dozen different sites, you can read your favorites in one location.
To get started, you need to download a news reader (also called an “aggregator”) to display RSS content feeds from the websites you choose. There are many free news readers available. If you click on the "RSS Feed" links below, the window will show you the variety of readers available. Once you’ve downloaded the reader, you’re ready to start selecting your preferred material.
